Chochin ga dekirumade – Making process of traditional lantern in Kyoto

Karimoku Commons Kyoto held the exhibition “Chochin ga dekirumade – Making process of traditional lantern in Kyoto” at the library space on the third floor from August 1 (Tue) to August 5 (Sat), 2023, to celebrate the launch of the “N-PL01 pendant lamp” developed in collaboration with Kojima Shoten, a long-established Kyoto lantern manufacturer that runs their business for about 200 years.
In cooperation with Kojima Shoten, the tools used to make the lanterns and photos of the work process were displayed, showing the steps involved in making the lanterns.
On Saturday, August 5, the ninth generation Kojima Mamoru painted lanterns and the tenth generation Kojima Ryo made lanterns.
